What My Little Girl Reminded Me About Christmas may surprise you. I have to say being a parent is the hardest thing I have ever done. I’ve stressed. I’ve worried. I have lost lots of sleep. I’ve even cried a lot. But, the tears have been more about the lessons I’ve endured.
The lessons God has taught me during this parenting ride have been amazing. You see I’ve learned that parenting isn’t always about the kids. It’s about God teaching you and molding you into the person He created you to be. He’s taught me lessons not only about parenting but about healing. Healing old wounds from my past to healing and mending my broken heart.
We are all broken in some ways and in some ways we all need a little TLC.
What My Little Girl Reminded Me About Christmas
As I watched my daughter get out her Christmas list she made with every single persons’ name on it from our family and meticulously picked out each and every gift for them last night…… I realized she has taught me to be kinder, more patient, and thoughtful.
God has shown me His love through her and my boys. I thank God for her kind and tender heart. I thank God He has molded me into a better person as I’ve been on this parenting journey.
She has already wrapped each and every gift she got for everyone. No stress. No tears. Not worrying. Just the joy of Christmas in her heart. (She even taught me a little this morning as I was grumbling about my large Christmas to-do list.) She is firm in her beliefs and loves BIG. I want to be like that when I grow up and I’ve learned so much from God through her and my boys. I can’t wait to see what God has in store in the days and years to come.
Don’t forget to slow down this Christmas and enjoy the journey. Find the joy in everything you do this year. And love BIG!
