This is a story about a girl that spent a lot of her life feeling different, because she was made up differently than some. A girl that needed time to recharge her batteries and to be alone, so she could function as a better human being in this world. A girl that has always been emphatic and emotional, but was always told she was too sappy or dramatic. A girl that has always loved being in comfy clothes and PJs verses a ball gown or heels. A girl who is quiet until she gets to know you. A girl who loves BIG, but guards her heart and has healthy boundaries. A girl who is an introvert and is proud of it!!!!
I’ve been told by others that I should “work on” not being an introvert or I should pray through it. But quite frankly, I’m okay with it. I’m better than okay with it, honestly! It’s what makes the world go around. Some people are introverts, and some are extroverts. I will not be made to feel different or weird just because I am different than another person.
Introverts Unite
I love my alone time, but I also love being with the ones I love. I love reaching out to others and getting “sappy” by telling them how much I love them. And degummit, I love wearing my PJs and snuggling up with a blanket and a good book with the people I love.
So NOPE, I will not feel bad for being an introvert and NOPE, I will not change it just because I’m not like you. I don’t have time to make everyone happy, especially at this point in my life. God’s more than okay with me being an introvert, and He’s the only one I have to please. So thanks for the attempts to change me and prayers to pray my introverted-ness (not even a word, I made it up) away, but they aren’t working, because I’m just fine the way I am. Introverts unite!
