I write this with a heavy heart, mainly because I have witnessed such hate and disgust over social media since the outbreak of the measles in Disneyland.I’m sure you know if you have been following my blog, or me on any of my social media platforms that the hate vocalized on social media saddens me. I know this country is based on freedom of speech and social media helps us voice our opinions but, when you are trying to hurt someone because of it, I think that is extremely wrong!

People have such hate and disgust on social media and elsewhere over the matter of vaccinations (as well as other issues). When it comes to vaccinations, people feel very strongly on one side or the other. Whether you agree or disagree, I do not feel there should be any room for name calling, hatred or bashing of other parents’ parenting-tactics.

Yes, the outbreak of measles is awful, I will agree! But, instead of hurting, bashing or name calling why don’t we all lift this nation and world, for that matter, up in prayer. Pray for the families that it has already affected, pray that it will not affect anymore or that it doesn’t spread, pray that no one will have fear but, lean on God when it comes to the matter.

I understand why people are so tense about this issue. Measles are not anything to “mess around with” but, whether you are the parent that vaccinates or doesn’t vaccinate, we are all the same, we are all looking out for our children’s best interest.

Ephesians 4:29: Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. NLT YouVersion
