It is now early January and the holidays are over. My crew has been sick off and on for the past two weeks and of course we have been visiting with family and friends so our schedule has been thrown off tremendously. With our schedule being thrown off so have our eating habits!

You know I am all about splurging at the right time, I am a realist! I know life happens!

But………..

When you eat healthy and exercise regularly those cravings seem to die! But, I have to admit my old self kept telling me I needed the extra calories and sugar over the holidays. Because I mean gosh I deserve it right?!  It was all in my mind not my body needing it, though.

So with that being said, my workouts have suffered, my skin has blemishes, my digestion tract has been off and my joints have been creaking.

If I have learned anything through my fitness journey it is, you are what you eat. When you eat clean, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly you fuel your body, your skin is more clear, you are happier and feel good about yourself inside and out!

I am not taking away the fact that there are illnesses that cannot be cured alone by nutrition and exercise, not all can. But, being healthy and living a healthy lifestyle sure can help with those illnesses. Setting up a healthy foundation for your body can ward off illnesses and when illness does strike, your body can fight them off better with a healthy lifestyle.

I am not a doctor by all means, I speak from experience. I also have relatives and friends that fight many set backs with their health but, with God and a healthy lifestyle including exercise and nutrition they are able to fight a “better” fight and prevail!

Give your body a chance, you only get one! Your body is your temple, use it wisely! As soon as you take the plunge and start living a healthy lifestyle it will become second nature to you and your body will thank you for it.

I do not deprive myself of anything. Yes, my nutrition includes fruits, veggies and good proteins and fats. That is not deprivation, if anything it is fueling my body! I no longer have cravings for sugar, like I said before, it is all in my mind.
