A blog post all about Election Year and Beyond and, of course, everything in-between!

Okay, here is the deal before you read this…..

This post is not a political rant by all means, but it needs to be said.

People stop it, just stop it!

Election Year and BeyondI know you are passionate about who you are voting for and who you want me and others to vote for but, just stop it. Your arguments on social media and rants out in public are not going to persuade me otherwise. All it does is make you look like (well I try to keep this blog PG, so let’s just leave it at this) a butthead.

You and your heavenly Father should be the only ones involved in your decision for president and for any election for that matter. I am not going to be persuaded, coaxed or talked into voting one way or the other just because Joe said so. Why? Because, Joe does not hold my future and my family’s future in his hands. The biggest baby daddy around, my God holds my life and all lives in His hands.

I know some of you are conflicted over this election this year and I get it, but don’t let one meme on social media or one speech by some goober politician help you make your decision. Take it to the thrown and pray about it people. Christians are screaming very loudly right now about their rights being taken away in schools and in social settings, but Christians themselves are taking away the most powerful weapon we have, prayer. Are you praying about it as much as you are arguing and complaining about it? My guess is no!

Election Year and BeyondDon’t get me wrong I am speaking to myself too. I am guilty of this as well. Everyday when I turn on the TV I get angry and wish for November to get here quickly. The ads and the bashing are horrid and I quite frankly am pretty tired of looking at them. Not to mention the social media rants. My husband reminds me everyday, politicians are not in control, but God is. I have to replay that in my mind daily, minute-by-minute. It is a scary world we live in, but people read the Bible and pray. We have been forewarned of these days for years. Actually these days have been going on for a long time now, it’s just now that everyone and their mama has a sound board to speak their mind about anything and everything. The media is at our fingertips every minute of every second of the day. I personally do not think that is a good thing. Why? Because, we are leaning on the media to tell us what is going on, what to do next and why we need to do it, instead of taking it to the thrown and praying about it.

I don’t consider myself a “political person”, but as the years have gone by, my family has grown and as I read the Bible more and more, I am more involved in what is going on in the country and world politically. Look, it’s like this, it may never get better in the world, but I know what my God says and I stand on that and that alone.

Where do we go from here?

So, if you want to know who I am voting for this November, I am not going to tell you. Not because I am scared of your reaction or your response, but because you need to be persuaded by the Almighty God, not by myself. It doesn’t matter who I vote for (well in hindsight it does, but you and God need to decide for yourself with no persuasions from me who you will vote for), all that matters is that you prayed about it, you heard from God and now you will walk in the confidence knowing you are making the right decision by God, for you and your family and also for America. Stop getting wrapped up in contreversy and arguments over this election. It is a distraction people, a distraction from what you should be doing the most during this time, which is pray.

Pray for this country. Pray for your family and how they fall into this decision this election year. Pray that whatever decision you make that it will make a difference. Pray and ask God to help you make your decision. That’s the most important thing and the key to this post…..

Seek God in all you do and you will not be living in confusion.

Until next time…
