I have to admit, I am not the most “present” person in the world. Someone can be talking to me and my mind is running circles. When asked what I think, I fall short and realize I wasn’t present in the conversation. My husband is always asking me if I am listening or in another world. Most of the time the case is, I am in  another world. I am not trying to be rude, I am just the type of person that is always planning. Planners are awesome but, BEWARE they are the worst kind of “non-present” and “non-listening” peeps. 😉 I am so busy planning the next step that I am not present in the moment and that (for me at least) is a dangerous place to be.

I am constantly reminding myself to be in the moment and not worry about what is coming next or what I have to plan. I am always so wrapped up in the results, I forget to enjoy the journey of getting to the results.

So what do we do about it? We pray! We pray for God to give us contentment. We pray for guidance and we pray for the ability to enjoy the moment by slowing down. We also practice being grateful. Grateful for the life God has given us and for the people in it!

Take a deep breath and enjoy the laughter of your children or the conversations with your husband. We are not promised tomorrow, so seize the moment and ENJOY LIFE!

Feel free to download this free printable. I am a very visual person, I must have reminders everyday of the things that I am praying about and/or trying to make better. I set it by my nightstand for a friendly reminder. (I even change it out when life takes a turn.  ;-)) Enjoy!
